IInternationally recognized for research, innovations, and surgical expertise in the field of adult reconstructive orthopaedic surgery, Dr James Stiehl offers over 33 years of outstanding clinical experience and is at the forefront of new technologies such as computer assisted navigation, minimally invasive surgery and new biomaterials in total joint reconstruction. He is also an expert at shoulder and knee conditions and now focuses on workman’s compensation injuries.  Dr Stiehl was a level 1 traumatologist for several years at an urban regional trauma center and brings that experience to his rural practice in Southern Illinois.

Dr Stiehl has achieved the CEDIR certification (Certified In Evaluation of Disability and Impairment Rating) and receives referrals from a three state area for evaluating occupational medicine cases where medical-legal opinions are required. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Disability Examining Physicians.

Dr Stiehl has currently founded a new medical technology company, Surgivisio NA, LLC that will market and service an new 3D/CT Carm that has an integrated computer navigation system.  This system will be used for spinal surgery but will eventually applied to many surgical areas.
